2014 CHALLENGE IS SET…..
I haven’t updated you all for a while on what I have been upto, and as such I haven’t updated my fundraising page either. As I said last year, I want to help raise funds for charities that have helped and supported me. This year my charity of choice is Open Sight (Hampshire Association for care of the Blind). My challenge is both personal to me and takes my new found love of a new sport.
…….DRUM ROLL PLEASE…….
With my climbing partner Simon Key I will be climbing ‘The Gherkin’ London’s iconic skyscraper, that measures 180m’s. As a fully glazed building it is not actually possible to climb. So we will be climbing the equivalent of it at Calshot climbing wall. As an experienced climber Simon will be challenging himself through this challenge by climbing blind folded.
So, after all the support I received from you last year with my run for guide dogs, I am asking for your help again.
Please support me and Simon
As part of a happier healthier me, I want to help those who have helped me along the way with my sight loss. Now with friends and family I repay favours, cook dinners or enjoy the odd coffee or three, but for the charities and organisations that have helped me, I offer my time and support through fundraising for them.
I already help out my local organisation Open Sight volunteering with store collections.
This year I wanted to do more, by setting myself a personal challenge whilst helping a charity.
This is the page where I ask for your direct support in sponsoring me through the first of the many great challenges I wish to achieve.
On October 27th I will be running (more of a jog probably) in The Bupa Great South Run for Guidedogs. I will keep you updated on my training and progress throughout my blog as the weeks role by.
By clicking on the link below you will be directed to my fundraising page, where you can show your support, big or small. Thank You x
I DID IT !!!!
The run went well, even if it was the windiest south run in its 24 year history. I’m now fully flexed and moving forward to think of next years challenge, which won’t be running!
Have a look at my blog about the run as I learnt a lot.
Please also help me to complete and reach my target and donate to this wonderful cause by clicking my link above.
